5 Day’s tour in which the hidden paradise Sumba will be discovered. Mamoli refers to women and the Sumbanese culture honours the fertility of women. The nature of Sumba island is beautiful, with white beaches, an impressive culture and delicious culinary dishes. If you travel in the period of March, you may wondering the traditional hierarchical "Pasola" ritual, where men 'fight' on horsebacks against each other while the women prepare meals. At the end of this ceremony there is dancing and singing into the late night to celebrate the future harvest.

Day 1 Tambolaka - Waikabubak
Upon arrival in Tambolaka, there is a transfer to the hotel in Waikabubak. Along the way plantations are passed and a visit is made to the impressive traditional villages like Kampung Tarong and Waitabar. Here are beautiful tombs in the middle of the village. During the evening there is the opportunity to visit the traditional market.

Day 2 Waikabubak
After breakfast the journey goes to Tosi, with traditional villages that have high points roofs,
sometimes higher than 10 m. It is possible to make walks in the village or take a look inside one of the houses. The traditional house at Sumba is built on stilts. On the ground floor are the animals, on the first floor the whole family stays and the second floor is used as a storage. Every village, called Kampung, has a chief or a kind of mayor. In the middle of the village you will find the tombs of the ancestors where the ceremonies are held. After a visit to the village there is an opportunity to enjoy sunbathing at the beach of Ratenggaro. Make endless walks or take a swim at this beautiful beach.

Day 3 Waikabubak
In the morning the travel continues in the direction of Lamboya, where several traditional villages can be viewed, including Waigali and Praigoli. There is also a chance to see the Kawija stone and to admire the Pasola fields. Enjoy the beautiful scenery that West Sumba has to offer. Make a stop at Sumba Nautil restaurant where you can have lunch with a beautiful view on the mountains and the sea. Additionally surfing or swimming is recommended at the white beach of Kerewel.

Day 4 Waikabubak - Waingapu
On the way to Waingapu stops are made at several villages, including Pasunga, Pau and
Rende where large impressive tombs are to be seen. The journey passes beautiful landscapes and rice fields. At the end of the afternoon there is a possibility to take a swim at the beach Buruwala and during the evening it is recommended to go for a nice dinner at a fish restaurant at the old port of Waingapu. Here one can see the traditional Buginese ships.

Day 5 Waingapu
Time to say goodbye to Sumba and end of this amazing journey. The pick up for the airport is arranged to bring you to your next destination.
