Day 1 Nias
This first day of the tour involves a visit to the Pusaka museum of Nias, which has a diverse and valuable collection, and the village of Nias. From Nias we continue our way to the megalithic sites in the village of Lahusa Idano Tea in the district Gomo, which is really worth visiting. These giant stones record the cultural history of how the predecessors of Nias behaved, entailing noble values and local wisdom. Afterwards we continue the journey to our overnight destination Teluk Dalam, passing the capital city of Nias, Gunung Sitoli.
Day 2 Teluk Dalam
This day is all about experiencing Teluk Dalam, the harbor city of the island Nias. The first visit is to Bawo Mataluwung, a UNESCO cultural village. Every year a traditional event takes place to keep the origin of their traditions alive. An example of such a tradition is the so called Lombat Batu-Fahombo, which means stone jumping. It is a phenomenon where local young men jump over stone walls which are up to two meters high. Also here you can find megaliths which residents still use for traditional ceremonies. We continue our way to Orahili, which is build on a hill and can only be reached by a small pathway. This pathway leads us to stunning views as we pass various hills. Finally we will visit Sorake beach. This place combines the fascinating tradition and culture together with the beautiful landscape of the island of Nias. It is also known as one of the best places in the world for surfing because of its excellent big waves.
Day 3 Sorake Beach - Asu Island
We will leave the island from Sorake beach to Asu Island by traditional boat. Asu Island has many beaches with crystal clear sea water and soft white sand. As far as the eye can see, a blue sky meets the blue sea. Here you can enjoy the whole day snorkeling at the blue lagoon or just bathing in the sun and experience the serenity.
Day 4 Asu Island - Gunung Sitoli
Today we transfer from Asu Island return to Nias Island. You will be amazed by the beautiful panorama as we are passing various ridges. A wonderful trip to a wonderful place.
Day 5 Gunung Sitoli - Airport
In the morning transfer to the airport or to your next destination. From the northern tip of the island to the southern tip, Nias has presented you her beauty which is hard to find elsewhere.
