This is a 17 day trip, where you’ll experience Papuan culture and nature. You visit some of the most beautiful places with stunning views and interesting culture up to Sentani. You will also encounter a lot of the Dutch influence which dates back from colonial times.

Day 1 Amsterdam - Jakarta
Today you will start your holiday by flying to Jakarta. Even though the journey is a long one try to enjoy your flight and the services that they are offering on board.  

Day 2 Jakarta
After your arrival at Jakarta airport you will be
transferred to your hotel where you can recover from your trip. You could do this by just relaxing by the pool or you can spend the day exploring Jakarta. In the evening there are lots of places and opportunities to try delicious Indonesian food.

Day 3 Jakarta - Sorong
Early in the morning you will fly on to Sorong, after your arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you can visit the center of the bustling port of Sorong.  

Day 4 Sorong
Free day in Sorong. Enjoy everything the city has to
offer. Take a walk along the colonial houses or enjoy the various shops and markets. In the evening there is a traditional pasar malam in the area.

Day 5 Sorong - Manokwari
Departure by plane to Manokwari. After arriving in Manokwari you can explore the city in peace by cycling or walking around the city. The city will take you back to the place doeloe times. Enjoy these spheres and be surprised by anything you encounter that day.   

Day 6 'till 8 Manokwari
Free time at Manokwari. From your hotel nothing is far away and you can spend time exploring
the area. You could for example visit the “old town” or make a trip along the deep blue waters of the Pacific islands and the Leman and Mansinam. If however you feel like being more adventurous you could head towards the rugged peaks of the Arfak mountains and jungle, It is the perfect area for trekking and hiking. Manokwari is a great place for nature lovers and adventurers.

Day 9 Manokwari - Jayapura
n the morning you will fly to Jayapura. The capital of Papua shows the mix of traditional Papua culture which is rapidly changing due to the modern world. This makes Jayapura city unique and it also has a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy the city in your own way and try to remain aware of what you see.

Day 10 Jayapura
After breakfast you will be transferred to the golf course Cendrawasih. For the golfers and the non
golfers amongst us it is on the list of places you shouldn’t miss. This beautifully landscaped and
maintained piece of nature offers several views of the sea and the city of Jayapura. With a little luck you will also find the Cendrawasih rare bird. 

Day 11 Jayapura - Wamena
Today you will discover a piece of the interior of Papua. You fly to Wamena with a final destination of Baliem Valley. Enjoy this flight which has a beautiful view of the dense jungle of Papua. Upon arrival in Wamena you will get to your hotel by betjak (traditional bicycle taxi).

Day 12 'till 14 Wamena
During these days you will discover Wamena.
You can walk around or even trek further into the depths of the jungle. Meet the original population in the valley Balliem and get to know this special culture and nature . Again it is most likely to ecounter a “Burung Cendrawasih”, also known as The Bird of Paradise.

Day 15 Wamena - Sentani
Today you will leave the Balliem valley and fly back today to Sentani. After arriving in Sentani, you can visit the village Sentani or travel by canoe to explore more of Sentani in the afternoon. At the end of the day you can relax by the pool in preparation for your journey back to Amsterdam.

Day 16 Sentani - Amsterdam
Time for you to leave Papua. From Sentani airport you will travel to Amsterdam.

Day 17 Amsterdam
Arrival Amsterdam and end of this adventurous journey.
